Our faith in God is the spiritual energy that keeps us alive as we move through all of the different situations and circumstances that come our way. As we grow and change and meet hard times and joyful times, it is our faith that carries us through it all.

In today's gospel reading, Thomas moved from doubt to faith as Jesus invited Thomas to actually touch his wounds. If our faith and trust in God doesn't grow in life, we may not be ready for the unexpected and tragic situations that so many of us must experience. How many young adults simply let their faith slide when they encounter others who don't believe, and who think any kind of spiritual activity is just a waste of time? If our faith only comes from the group to which we belong, then it is on very shaky grounds.
